Hydrothermal Synthesis of Albite: The Effect of NaOH on Obliquity

Summary: A series of albites was synthesized in the presence of aqueous NaOH fluids (concentration 0 to 4N NaOH, Pfluid = 15000 1b/in2) over the temperature range 300 to 500 °C. At fixed temperature-pressure conditions increasing NaOH concentration of the initial fluid can be correlated with decreasing obliquity of the albites.
