Synopsis: A statistical study on the modal analysis data of eight minerals of the Meldon aplite is made with a view to determining their distribution patterns in the rock. Various parameters and statistics have been calculated and the results are tabulated.

Topaz and elbaite are considered as censored samples; ‘normalization’ in the case of these two minerals is obtained by double probit transforms. Findings of the statistical study are correlated with the modes of formation of the minerals.
