Abstract: Högbomite from Reedy Creek, South Australia, is of a composition outside the previously reported range. It contains less Ti and Mg and more Al and total Fe, with a total Fe/(total Fe + Mg) value between 0.69 and 0.72. The högbomite occurs in unusual cordieritesillimanite aggregates containing minor magnetite, ilmenite, hematite, corundum, and hercynite.
