Michelle_575Concretions bearing whewellite are found in the Gregory Member of the Pierre Shale, Meade County, South Dakota . They have been reported at Elm Springs, Elk Creek and along the Cheyenne River. Concretions are described as septarian limestone and often fossiliferous, from 30 cm to a few meters in diameter.
