(2003)10.1127/0935-1221/2003/0015-0427EJM15_427The manganese ores of Kajlidongri (Nayak 1966, 1969a; Ostwals and Nayak 1993) occur in syngenetic bands of manganese oxides and silicates enclosed in quartzose rocks, interbedded with phyllites, quartz schist, and gondites (metamorphosed, non-calcareous magniferous argillites and arenites) of the Aravalli Supergroup. Subsequent to their formation, post-tectonic epigenetic activity introduced veins cutting across the above-mentioned rocks, with later supergene alteration.
