Mineral locality data provided by mindat.org

The Mineral Evolution database is currently under development.

The goal of this page is to present localities at which the mineral is found, and estimates of the oldest possible geologic age of the minerals at these localities.

Michelle_510Deposit occurs in Archean serpentinized peridotite. It is the TL for three carbon minerals, paraotwayite, otwayite, and nullaginite, that occur as secondary mineralization in shear zones of the deposit. The veinlets cut all other minerals and appear to be late stage and low temperature in origin.
Michelle_512Deposit occurs in Archean serpentinized peridotite. The serpentinite has undergone extensive alteration by shearing and silicification. Otway deposit is the TL for three carbon minerals, paraotwayite, otwayite, and nullaginite, that occur as secondary mineralization in shear zones of the deposit. The veinlets cut all other minerals and appear to be late stage and low temperature in origin.
