Mineral locality data provided by mindat.org

The Mineral Evolution database is currently under development.

The goal of this page is to present localities at which the mineral is found, and estimates of the oldest possible geologic age of the minerals at these localities.

Giersdorf_00000647Tirpersdorf is an old Uranium prospect that delves into the Bergen Massif. The town of Tirpersdorf is located approximately 4 km SSW of the town of Bergen, the namesake of the granite body found in the area. The Bergen Massif is one of many Variscan granite bodies found in the Erzgebirge area in the eastern part of Germany on the border with the Czech Republic.
