Michelle_507Baylissite occurs as a recent secondary mineral in alpine fissures of the Gerstenegg-Sommerloch tunnel in the Grimsel Pass area of the Aar Massif. Pliocene hydrothermal breccia mineralization in the Grimsel area demonstrates that meteoric waters penetrated deep into the Aar massif. The tunnels are utilized by utility companies.
