(2000)10.2138/am-2000-8-925AM85_1307The sedimentary ores recrystallized during the regional Alpine metamorphism under lowest greenschist facies conditions (≤325 °C, 3–5 kb). Together with other arsenates, cabalzarite documents the mobility of As during the retrograde stage of the Tertiary Alpine metamorphism under lowest to sub-greenschist facies conditions.

The mineral occurs on small quartz crystals, associated with braunite and other Mn minerals. Presumably, the mineral formed by a reaction of humic acids with the primary Mn ore. Falottaite easily dehydrates to form Lindbergite.
